auctioneer of “Time & Strike
Auction Co.” of Allenstown,
New Hampshire. The firm
specialized in the sale of
antique pocket watches,
wristwatches and clocks for
7 years from 1997 to 2004.
Steve presently practices
antique pocket watch,
wristwatch and clock
restoration out of his shop
in Concord, New Hampshire.

ASTRONOMICAL FLOOR
REGULATOR.
This is a time only weight
driven floor standing
astronomical regulator. This
clock has a 14 inch white
painted dial with wood
bezel. This clock stands 7
feet 10 inches high, has a
solid massive brass movement
with jeweled pallets and a
graham dead beat escapement.
The movement is a model #3
movement. The case has been
refinished and has a chip to
the carving on the left rear
top of the crest. The dial
has been refinished. The
hands are typical and are in
the Howard style. The
pendulum has a four jar
mercury bob. The clock has a
Howard fancy brass pulley
with typical Howard brass
weight. The weight is
compounded once and runs
down the side of the case.
The clock has a silvered
regulator. Half of the
Geneva stop is missing. This
clock is from a private
collector and has never been
offered for sale. It is set
up and running. 31"W x 94"H
x 4"D.

clock with rocking ship. The
dial is signed Norton. The
clock is brass 8 day time
and strike with rack and
snail and hour strike on the
bell. It has a calendar
mechanism for the day of the
month. The clock has a good
period seatboard and period
walnut Chippendale case, OG
bracket base and broken
arched top with original
carved rosettes & wooden
flame finials. 20.5"W x

FRENCH INDUSTRIAL
ANIMATED TRAIN CLOCK.
Features a 2 color gilded
brass and dark patinated
bronze locomotive. 8 day
time and half hour strike
movement located in the cab
and a barometer on the
boiler both of which have
silvered dials. The wheels
of the locomotive are
animated, driven by a
separate movement in the
base. The platform base
under the tracks is black
marble. Circa 1910.
Excellent working condition.

An exceptional mahogany
case, among the finest
produced by R.J Horner. The
upper bonnet has detailed
full bodied lions with a
carved cherub at the bottom
and a carved claw foot base.

and patina are excellent.

JOSEPH JENNENS INLAID
GRANDFATHER CLOCK.
Joseph Jennens grandfather
clock in a documented Tobey
case. This is a massive
mahogany grandfather clock
with incredible inlay. It
has a signed brass dial with
moon phase and typical
pierced style hands, silver
chapter ring, raised gold
Arabic hour numerals and
silent chime switch. The
massive time, strike and
chime restored brass clock
movement was made in
England. The clock has 8
tubes for the Westminster
and Whittington chime
selection. It strikes the
hour on a coiled cathedral
anvil. The clock has a
massive mahogany seat board.
It is totally restored,
highly polished,
exceptionally cleaned, and
immaculate. The weights are
brass shells, highly
polished, large and massive.
The clock has an impressive
bonnet with intricate inlay
and three brass finials. The
case is numbered #944. A
shaped beveled glass in the
waiste door and in both side
panels. 24"W x 102"H x 16"D.

BIEDERMEIER LANTERN CLOCK
CIRCA 1830.
Austrian figured mahogany
circa 1830 lantern clock
with satinwood string inlay
at the edges and arched
throat glass. 8 day single
weight movement. Porcelain
dial with some wear to the
name & painted roman
numerals. Clock is in
exceptional original
condition. Crack to one side
glass. 10.5"W x 40"H x 5"D.

JAMES DOUTT GRANFATHER
CLOCK.
Period 8 day time and strike
tall clock attributed to
James Doutt from Charleston
Mass. This clock is in a
figured mahogany case with
birds eye maple panels. Has
silver appointments,
trimmings, and hinges. The
movement is an 8 day time
and strike. Typical pillar
and plate construction with
rack and snail strike system
that has been silver plated
along with the movement. The
time frame does have
maintaining power. The clock
has a compensated pendulum
signed Carlton G. W.
Stewart, A. Lawrence Patents
January 15, 1889 and
February 3, 1891. The
movement has a very unusual
seat board that is skeleton
eyed and extremely well
made. 20"W x 97"H x 10.5"D.

WATER WHEEL CLOCK ATTR.
PLACHON.
This clock has a glass dial,
Brocot escapement and a
three wheel train driven by
the steel balls in the right
hand side of the paddle
wheel which is connected to
the center wheel. The balls,
after leaving the paddle
wheel, are guided to the
base of an elevator
consisting of a series of
buckets which lift the balls
so that they may once again
be placed on the top of the
paddle-wheel. The buckets
are driven by two concealed
springs in the base acting
in tandem. In the center of
the elevator is a
thermometer and above 12
o'clock an aneroid
barometer. Bronze mounted
rosewood base and in a glass
enclosed display case (not
shown). An example of this
clock was shown in the
Exposition Universelle of
1900. 18"W x 21"H x 5.5"D.

FRENCH INDUSTRIAL STEAM
CLOCK & BAROMETER.
A large central cylinder and
piston with a vertical
connecting rod powers the
flywheel with a centrifugal
governor assembly. The
cylinder has two large
fireboxes on either side
mounted with boilers, and
with all attendant pressure
lines and tubing leading to
the cylinder. There is also
a barometer over the right
firebox and a thermometer
behind the cylinder. The
automation is driven by a
separate spring motor housed
in the base, powering the
flywheel. Featuring clean
gilt and silvering
throughout on a rouge marble
base, Circa 1890. 14"W x
18"H x 7"D.

DUTCH EARLY 19TH CENTURY
8 DAY 2 TRAIN TALL CLOCK.
This clock strikes 1 bell on
the half hour and a larger
bell on the hour. The clock
has a three date calendar
mechanism, day of the week,
day of the month, and month
of the year. The dial is
signed Kroon and does have a
moon phase. The case is
heavily inlaid with gilded
brass mounts. The bonnet has
reticulated carvings with
figures. The clock has a
steel pendulum rod and brass
bob with 2 weights. Made by
Claas Kroon, Leeuwarden.
